Get Your Quiff Right

Quiffs are getting bigger and bigger in the UK, literally! Unfortunately, one of this year’s most popular hairstyles isn’t that easy to master, so we’ve created a quick guide in how to keep your quiff clean and serene in 2014.

Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail

Creating the perfect quiff involves a bit of preparation, so if you’re in a rush we’d suggest you grab your beanie and make a run for it! Ensure you wash and condition your hair properly, then towel dry until it is damp. Take your chosen product and use a small amount to create the quiff, as too much will make your hair heavy and harder to style.

Less is More

In regards to product, it’s easy to overdo the quiff and weigh it down with too much wax or gel. Start with a small amount and see how it holds up; you can always add a little more if you feel it requires more hold.

Blow Dry Baby

It may not be the most masculine of looks, but if you want your quiff to pop, you’re gonna have to blow dry it to give it the lift it truly deserves. Pull the hair upwards with a brush or comb to really give it some height. Don’t hold the dryer too close or you will damage your hair through excessive heat. Nobody said this was going to be easy!

Reach the Finish Line

Now that your hair is dry and styled, finish the look with just a touch of good quality wax to give your quiff that extra bit of hold. A pea-sized amount of wax will add definition and extra shine to the finish.

Not all hair types can rock the quiff so if you have thin, frizzy or curly hair, it’s probably best to avoid this hairstyle. If you’re thinking of trying something new, why not pop into one of our barbers in Leamington Spa, Milton Keynes or Banbury to talk to one of our knowledgeable staff before you take the plunge.
